The art world is a constantly evolving and dynamic space, with new and innovative artists emerging all the time. One such artist is Judy Li, who recently displayed her stunning pastel paintings in our High Street office. In this blog, we delve into the inspiration behind her art and the message she wants to bring across through her paintings.
The idea of the exhibition came about during the lockdown, when Judy Li rediscovered her love for painting. She used to paint when she was at school but had forgotten about it until the lockdown.
Judy’s inspiration comes from nature, places she’s always wanted to visit but hasn’t been able to, due to the ongoing pandemic. Despite being locked down at home, it didn’t hold her back from visiting these places in her mind’s eye. This way Judy was able to fulfill her yearning to go to these places and find a way to connect with them. In fact, her images became so vivid that she was able to put those visions onto paper.
Through her art, Judy wants to communicate a simple yet powerful message – to take charge of your mind and go places that make us happy and peaceful. She believes that her paintings were a great opportunity to connect with her inner child and do things that she enjoyed doing when she was young.
Judy’s technique of choice is pastels, which she uses to bring her paintings to life. The use of pastels gives her paintings a unique, soft and dreamy feel that is both calming and peaceful.
If you want to connect with Judy and see more of her work, you can find her on Instagram under the handle @judyli.art. She is always happy to connect with other artists and share her journey in the art world.
In conclusion, Judy Li’s exhibition is a must-see for anyone who loves art and wants to be inspired by a young, talented artist. Don’t miss the opportunity to connect with your inner child and find peace through her paintings.
The exhibition will be at Swansea MAD until 24th March and we look forward to working with Judy to promote her art.
