Swansea MAD are delighted to be exhibiting the work of Year 10 pupils from Pentrehafod School. We would like to say a big thank you to the Head of the Art Department, Mrs. Jones, for reaching out and for setting up this outstanding exhibition.

The project, entitled ‘Messages’ features twelve framed black and white photography pieces that reflect contemporary societal issues. The work that we are displaying includes themes such as the effects of social media, body image, eating disorders, loneliness and isolation. During the project, the pupils have engaged with a range of photography skills, staging their own photoshoots and using a range of editing software to express their chosen theme.

Through the project, the pupils learned that their photography skills can create impact, raise questions and communicate a message to their audience, as well as the fact that the combination of text and image can be very powerful in creating a statement.

‘Messages’ will be on display at the Swansea MAD office from October 1st to December 17th, so please come down and have a look while you can!
