Gaby Roslin and Arabella Weir Visit Swansea MAD

Swansea MAD is a vibrant youth and community charity based on Swansea High Street.

Swansea MAD works for a fair world, in which people can be themselves and thrive!

Embedded in our community as a Community Anchor and a Warm Welcome Hub (listed on the Swansea Spaces directory, and Warm Welcome UK Champion hub) we provide a safe, inclusive space where people can connect, learn and access support. Each year we serve over 10,000 people. Our services include providing free, nutritious and sustainable food to people in Swansea experiencing food poverty and food insecurity, including through community meals, food share events and packed lunches for children and young people during school holidays.

We provide free access to the National Databank and Device Bank, offering data, SIM cards and digital devices to reduce digital exclusion, helping individuals and communities overcome barriers to connectivity and participation. People know we are here for them.

Their visit took place during #WarmWelcomeWeek, which shines a light on Warm Welcome Spaces across the UK. These are safe, welcoming community spaces that offer connection, support, and friendship to anyone who needs it. Swansea MAD is proud to be one of over 6,000 Warm Welcome Spaces supporting communities every day.

Gaby Roslin, Ambassador for the Warm Welcome Campaign said:

It’s been wonderful to be at Swansea MAD with my friend Arabella Weir this Warm Welcome Week. It’s a wonderful place full of joy and friendship, and a brilliant way to chase away the blues this January.

A huge thank you to the Warm Welcome Campaign for their continued support and for making visits like this possible. We are also grateful to Gaby, Arabella, and Warm Welcome Campaign for taking the time to visit and chat.
